Like most years, the inaugural hike of the season was to
Spud Lake. Banner took it all in
stride, and rocked the Baby Bjorn like he had been hiking his entire life.
It was a beautiful day, and a wonderful hike. There were other hikers on the trail,
but we ended up having the lake to ourselves by the time Banner finished his
“picnic” bottle on the beach. We
even dipped his toes in the cold water – a proper initiation for our little
first timer.
It was a little surreal to think back to the last time I visited Spud Lake. Sarah C and
Peaches were visiting. It was my
31st birthday. We had
just learned the sex of the baby I was carrying, and the THOR nickname had just
been coined by Trevor. Amazing how
much can change in a year!
